The Expert is an assistant professor of environmental studies at Franklin & Marshall College. The Expert is an environmental and economic anthropologist who uses ethnography to investigate how climate change and questions of development are reconciled in the global south, with their longest-term focus on Peru and the Andes. They have conducted over two years of in-person fieldwork in rural and urban Peru since 2008, with a long-term residency between 2013-2015 and consistent research trips between 2015 and 2019. The Expert is fluent in Spanish and have a working knowledge of Quechua.
