Praxis, a human rights charity fighting for migrant rights, has launched a new interactive online version of A Migrant's Guide, a resource designed to help migrants navigate services and support before and after securing immigration status in the UK.

Available at https://praxis-migrants-guide.org.uk, the guide was co-produced with people with lived experience of the UK immigration system. It brings together practical advice drawn from migrants' experiences, with information on finding support and navigating life in the UK.

The website allows you to select categories that you need help support with, such as housing and homelessness, immigration advice, employment and financial stability, education and skills development, healthcare, social care and community support.

It can be browsed by 'Resources', which cover topics such as applying for Universal Credit, finding immigration advisers, opening a bank account, registering with a GP, accessing homelessness support and understanding immigration status and restrictions on access to public funds. The site also includes checklists, reflective exercises and advice from people who have experienced the immigration system.

The interactive guide features a very comprehensive directory of organisations and support services under its 'Services' section, alongside opportunities, events and community activities. Users can search for relevant information and identify organisations that may be able to assist with their circumstances.

Praxis said the guide is intended to make it easier for frontline workers to direct people to relevant services and support by bringing information about organisations, resources and opportunities together on one platform.

The guide is aimed at people navigating the UK immigration system, whether they are waiting for a decision or adjusting to life after being granted status.

The new online version builds on the original guide launched last year, which has been distributed in printed and digital formats.

Praxis said the online guide can be updated as services change and new resources become available. Organisations are invited to contribute information about their work, helping the resource remain relevant to the needs of migrant communities.
