The Home Secretary announced a change in law today preventing foreign criminals challenging their deportation under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, the right to family and private life. According to the BBC MP's will not be able to vote on the change given that it is likely to be introduced in secondary legislation.

Also at the Conservative Party Conference:  The Work and Pensions Secretary told the Conference that he will not give in to the European Commission's demands for the UK to pay EU Citizens the same benefits as British Citizens. The Conservative Government believes that this will open doors to "Benefit Tourists".
