The Home Office said in a press release yesterday that new advisory services for asylum seekers will operate from 1st April 2014.

Grants for operating the advice services have been awarded to the Refugee Council and to Migrant Helpline.

According to the Home Office, the Refugee Council will operate a service to support unaccompanied children seeking asylum.

Migrant Helpline will provide independent advice and guidance about the asylum process to adult asylum seekers and their dependants. The services provided by Migrant Helpline from April 2014 will replace current one-stop and wrap-around arrangements.

The Home Office says there will be no break in provision as the transition is made from the existing arrangements to the new.
