I am a sociologist and academic researcher specializing in Development Studies, Social Inequality, Environmental Stressors, Political Opinions, etc., in the context of Bangladesh, with expertise in governance, political institutions, environmental justice, climate change adaptation, migration, rural livelihoods, social exclusion, human rights, sustainable development, and mental health. Along with 27 years of teaching and research at national and international universities, my 36 years of lived experience with political dynamics in Bangladesh can contribute a sharp judgment to any case arising there. My research focuses on the interactions among political, environmental, socio-economic, and mental health processes that shape vulnerability and resilience (economic, social, and political) in Bangladesh.
I have extensive experience conducting empirical research throughout Bangladesh using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches, including structural equation modelling (SEM), Fuzzy DEMATEL, multivariate statistical analysis, and participatory field research. My work has examined political participation, institutional accountability, climate-induced displacement, environmental governance, livelihood transformation, poverty, and social inequality. My expertise focuses on contemporary Bangladesh, particularly governance, political institutions, democracy, corruption, the rule of law, public accountability, elections, health sociology, environmental governance, climate change, climate-induced displacement, migration, rural livelihoods, social exclusion (LGBT), poverty, public and mental health, environmental justice, political participation, youth, social movements, and sustainable development. I have conducted extensive fieldwork across Bangladesh, particularly within environmentally vulnerable communities in the north-east wetland (haor) region, examining flood adaptation, disaster resilience, institutional performance, livelihood change, and environmental vulnerability. My research also examines governance failures, political trust, state-society relations, social inequality, and environmental risk. My academic work combines sociological theory with advanced empirical methodologies, including mixed-methods research, qualitative interviewing, survey research, Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), Fuzzy DEMATEL, multivariate analysis, and comparative policy analysis. I regularly analyse contemporary political, social, environmental, and economic developments affecting Bangladesh.

I am an academic sociologist with extensive experience conducting independent research, field investigations, policy-oriented studies, and university teaching on Bangladesh. I was the treasurer of Noakhali Science and Technology University from 2018 to 2022. In this administrative role, I worked on grievance redressal mechanisms, investigated numerous cases related to corruption, misinformation, and misuse of public funds, and served as the convenor of several inquiry committees (all reports are confidential).
