Expertise

My name is Dr. Eva Renon. I am an associate lecturer in Political Economy at UCL. For five years, I was a senior analyst in political and security risk at S&P Global. I specialised on the risk posed by non-state armed groups and armed forces (including arbitrary detention) to citizens and foreign companies’ staff. I have produced political influence maps, risk forecast maps and details reports that have been requested by The Economist and foreign embassies. For four years I was second lieutenant in the Army in quality of intelligence analyst, during which I produced diverse reports on the political and security situation in Iraq, including mapping governmental and non-governmental militias armed and political activities.

Experience

I have completed the University of London Refugee Law Initiative Expert Witness training with Dr. Victorie Knox in June 2025.
