Since 2018, the Expert has been actively researching on a part-time basis for a doctoral level of research (yet to be published) titled “On a razor’s edge: the troubled neutrality behind the geopolitical dilemma facing Nepal amid the global rise of India and China.” The research investigates the interaction between Nepal’s political parties and international political actors as the dynamics of these internal-external relations significantly affect Nepal’s domestic and foreign policy outcomes.  The primary focus of this research is the study of a discourse analysis of Nepal’s politics, economy, and society since 1947. Within this theoretical and periodical framework, the research investigates the substantial development of Nepal’s internal-external relations with India and China, strictly focusing on the characters of Nepal’s mainstream political parties; Nepal Communist Party (UML), Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress (NC).
