HJT - APPENDIX FM PATHWAYS FOR PARTNERS & SETTLEMENT(FEB)

Description

The LIVE online course will include a comprehensive and practical overview of relevant eligibility and related factors to consider when making an application in respect of partners.

This will include the marriage visitor option, fiancee and prospective civil partners, husbands and wives, civil partner and de facto applications.

It will cover a brief history of the ‘spouse’ category and will go on to look at the required status of sponsors, ages of both parties, degrees of relationship, meeting of the partners, genuine and subsisting relationships, validity of marriages and civil partnerships and the situation in respect of those married previously.  The course will then address the financial requirements under Appendix FM, a brief look at Appendix FM-SE and the EX1 Exception.

Settlement applications will also be covered as will the instances of marriages that have ended during the probation period including bereaved partner and domestic violence instances.

It will also cover parties marrying in the UK and the advantageous implications of being married to a British citizen in respect of the Naturalisation process.

You will come away from the course with a good understanding of the practical factors to consider when applying at any stage of these applications types.

Most importantly, the course will address the major upcoming changes announced for Spring 2024 – including over doubling of the minimum income requirement for spouse visas rising to £38,700 and imminent increases to the Immigration Health Surcharge factored into such application planning.
