RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AND NEW PERSPECTIVES FROM THE UK’S LEADING IMMIGRATION LAW PRACTITIONERS

This full-day conference will examine topical areas of immigration law and practice.

WHEN: Friday, 2 September 2022

Registration will open from 8:45am and the event will close around 4pm followed by a drinks reception. There will be a lunch break and two refreshment breaks throughout the day. Lunch will be provided. Halal and vegetarian options will be provided.

WHERE: The MacKenzie Building, Old Assembly Close, 172 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1QX

COST: Tickets are priced at £75 per delegate. Members of the Faculty of Advocates will be eligible for discounted tickets priced at £50 each.

A donation will be made to a humanitarian and refugee charity from a portion of the proceeds.

Delegates will have an opportunity to hear from distinguished Counsel at the Scottish Bar as well as expert practitioners from leading immigration firms throughout Scotland in topics including:

1. Tricky issues in judicial review procedure

2. An update on unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASCs)

3. Private and family life case-law update

4. Global mobility/global expansion routes

The event will be chaired by Bilaal Shabbir, incoming Devil at the Faculty of Advocates. The Rt Hon Lord Malcolm, Senator of the College of Justice, will deliver the keynote address.
