We are looking for an Immigration Manager to join the dynamic LRMN and lead its Immigration team. We currently have 2.6 FTE Immigration Advisers (OISC Level 2 and 3 and an Immigration Solicitor) who provide quality service to our service users. To be successful you should be a Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate or an OISC Level 3 Caseworker.
LRMN is a thriving organisation and one of the most established refugee and migrant organisations providing services in London but focusing on South and South East London boroughs. Our services include specialist legal advice and information on immigration, housing and welfare, providing therapeutic and practical support to women who have survived gender based violence, helping our service users access employment, training and volunteering opportunities, prevent mental health problems, integrate and engage in their community.
As Immigration Manager, 50% of your time will be spent as a member of the Senior Management Team, to manage the Immigration Legal Team and supervise the client work. You will provide line management support to your team members including 1:1 supervision, coaching, performance appraisal, file reviews and more and ensure that they provide high quality immigration and asylum advice and information. The other 50% will be spent managing and conducting your own caseload of immigration advice and casework to LRMN’s clients. You will manage a complex caseload across the field of immigration, nationality and asylum law and represent clients at tribunals as and when necessary.
Awareness of issues and barriers faced by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in accessing appropriate services is important and experience of working in the voluntary sector is desirable. You should be highly motivated and can work alone and as part of a team.
