Immigration Caseworker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time caseworker role in a niche boutique firm. The role would be perfect for a candidate that wants a challenging and dynamic work in private immigration. The ideal person would be one that thrives in a problem-solving environment, enjoys a wide variety of work, independent, and is able to support colleagues at short notice. The role includes inter alia:

• Preparing and submitting British citizenship applications for those with quasi diplomatic status, and providing on-going advisory work.

• Preparing appeals in private human rights, citizenship deprivation and asylum matters.

• Supporting supervising solicitors by drafting complex submissions, witness statements, and research tasks on novel points of policy and law.

• Having responsibility for own caseload in a wide array of immigration matters, ranging from family applications, entrepreneurs, investors, to those with leave as stateless persons.

• Drafting pre-action correspondence to the Home Office.

• Instructing and liaising with counsel in litigation and advisory matters.

Instructions rely heavily on recommendations from current and former clients. And a lot of the work will be conducted remotely. Therefore, the candidate will have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work in a friendly client-focused environment.

The candidate should have keen a interest in British Nationality Law and experience in handling British citizenship applications. Relevant training will be provided.
