John Birchall

The Expert reads all relevant papers relating to a client free of charge and produces a short report on the case details. He relates these to the evidence already given and how he considers the subsequent hearing will be influenced by these. He rejects requests, if he feels there is very little chance of the client being offered permission to remain. He accepts payment in instalments.

The Expert has worked in and lectured/researched the above for over 30 years.

He teaches business people, diplomats and UNICEF Directors at SOAS, University of London, he has also worked at LSE, Cambridge and Oxford Universities.

He edits The Journal of Sierra Leone Studies and is the Director of the Centre for Sierra Leone Studies, Makeni University, Sierra Leone.

He holds two Associate Professorships in African Universities. His time working in Africa dates back to 1970’s, when he was a VSO in Sierra Leone. Since that he has worked in Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Cameroun.

His research has also taken in Gabon, DRC and Republic of Congo.

In East Africa he has worked in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe and has researched and prepared papers on Ethiopia and Uganda.

The Expert has written over 40 Expert Witness Reports covering ALL West African countries, including both former British and French colonies.

His reports range through Gabon, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Niger, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Zimbabwe.
