WEB 1054 Judicial Reviews & Removals

This course will cover best practice and conduct issues in JR, and practical advice about how to run JRs against removal. Attendees will learn the principles, procedure and practice involved in bringing an urgent judicial review of removal, when and how to seek an injunction to halt removal and a lawyer's duties to the court, and Home Office policy on removal.

• What is JR and when is it appropriate in removal cases?
• Grounds for JR and grounds that will often arise in removal cases
• Procedure
• Interim relief and out-of-hours applications, including conduct issues and recent cases
• SSHD's JR/removals policy, and when an injunction is necessary
