About JCWI Updates

The electronic update of JCWI's highly acclaimed Immigration, Nationality, and Refugee Law Handbook 2006. The handbook has become an indispensable guide to law and practice in this area.

Please note that these updates are current until February 2008 and have not been revised since then. Due to rapid changes in law and policies in this sphere, including the enactment of the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009 and the introduction of the new Points-Based System, it has not been possible for JCWI to issue timely updates.

JCWI have instead decided that it would be better to publish a separate comprehensive guide on the Points-Based System which is a completely new area of development in the Government’s managed migration policy. The JCWI Guide to the Points-Based System is now available to order at http://www.jcwi.org.uk/publications
