Forced Marriage Guidelines: Written Ministerial Statement
2/7/09: the Forced Marriage Unit launches revised forced marriage multi-agency practice guidelines intended for all front-line practitioners to help them to work more closely together to better identify and protect children and adults at risk of forced marriage. These new guidelines are available from the House Library, can be accessed on the Forced Marriage Unit’s website, www.fco.gov.uk/forcedmarriage, or hard copies can be obtained directly from the Unit

This guidance is used by UK Border Agency staff deciding applications for citizenship. Legislation database:
Asylum Support (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2009

SI 2009/1388: wef 6th July 2009, makes amendments to set the annual rates of asylum support in line with inflation, applying an increase to the level of support for children under 16 and aged 16-18, adults aged 18 to 24 and adult couples from 6 July 2009; no increase in support payments for those adult asylum seekers already in receipt of the existing lone parent and over 25 rate on 5 October 2009. The over 25 rate will be closed to all new applicants with effect from midnight on 4 October 2009. With the exception of adult couples and lone parents, there will be a new rate of support for all new adult applicants from 5 October 2009 where the decision to grant support is made from 5 October 2009 onwards.

Immigration (Passenger Transit Visa) (Amendment) (No. 3) Order 2009

SI 2009/1229: wef 17th May 2009, revokes the Immigration (Passenger Transit Visa) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2009 (which is not yet in force) and amends the Immigration (Passenger Transit Visa) Order 2003 which sets out which persons will need a transit visa to pass through (without entering) the United Kingdom.
