The Expert has so far completed over 500 expert witness reports on Sri Lanka, Pakistan and the Maldive Islands since 2015, primarily for the UK courts but also in Canada and the USA.

She has over two decades of work experience in Sri Lanka. Specializes in cases involving political victimization, domestic violence, religious persecution, mental illness, and LGBTQ rights.

Refugees, asylees, and those seeking asylum have seen the worst of humanity and, as a result, often suffer from different forms of mental illness, including some of the more common illnesses of post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression.  

This expert has well documented the effect of persecution and torture on individuals, governance and human rights.
 
The Expert also handles cases for refugees who are seeking medical treatment as a result of coming from countries that are failed states, where medical care facilities deteriorate rapidly and it takes massive amounts of investment and organisation to recover. This expert maintains an extensive database on the existing state of medical and hospital infrastructure in a number of countries and is available to provide bespoke expert witness reports.

This expert's special expertise as a journalist has been in investigative reporting, with emphasis on human rights, political and economic conflict and corruption. And the background includes interacting with local and regional government officials and politicians at the highest level, diplomats and business leaders.  
 
The Expert is familiar with reporting from conflict zones in Sri Lanka. Conducted significant field work having covered the ethnic conflict extensively from battle zones in the North and East of Sri Lanka for over two decades.  Travelled widely in South Asia, to Pakistan, Nepal, and the Maldive Islands.

Continues to maintain a massive database on Sri Lanka and Pakistan on issues involving political and religious persecution, corruption, as well as domestic violence.
