Fresh claims for asylum are an increasingly significant area of practice. This course will review the recent case-law on fresh claims (including a series of recent Court of Appeal and Supreme Court cases) and give practical guidance on effective preparation of fresh representations; and effective challenges to decisions by the Secretary of State to refuse to treat representations as fresh claims. The course will review recent and proposed changes in policy and law on fresh claims including their relationship to permission to work. A must for intermediate and advanced practitoners working in asylum.
