ILPA: Visitors and short term students – what they can and can’t do?

DT 1744 Visitors and short term students – what they can and can't do?

Tuesday 16 Jan 2018, 16.15, London
Tutors: Matthew Wills, Laura Devine Solicitors; Penny Evans, Penningtons Manches LLP

Visitor (standard), Marriage/civil partnership visits, Permitted Paid Engagements (PPE) visits and transit visits - the rules on visitors can be complex. With the prospect of re-entry bans and other penalties and disadvantages for breaches of the rules, it is vital that representatives are able to advise their clients on what visitors can and cannot do. The session will focus on visitors (with a business focus) and short term students. The course will ensure that you are confident in what individuals can and cannot do in the UK as a visitor or short term student and highlight common pitfalls that await the unwary.
