2011: Review of the Year

This course provides a practical review of developments in the immigration rules, human rights, and European Union law in 2011 for the Immigration Practitioner.

Immigration Law– The latest thinking on mandatory refusals, students under the PBS, appeal rights for overstayers and others, litigating and generating decisions under the Legacy, and running deportation appeals.

European Union Law– Retained rights of residence, Rights of Extended family members, Evidencing applications, and the ongoing of implications of Zambrano, McCarthy and Dereci.

Human Rights– latest cases on the right to private and family life, the developing right to property, and the Charter of Fundamental Rights.

We do not propose covering developments in asylum law or the Points Based System (beyond what is specifically mentioned above).
