Experience: 

The Expert  is a social anthropologist with expertise on human rights, refugees, gender, sexual and gender minorities, honour killings, trafficking, sectarian violence, extremist and violent groups, land disputes, and other aspects of the politics, culture, society, and history of countries in South Asia. The Expert first visited South Asia in 1989, and currently resides in the region. The Expert has spent over 11 years conducting research, working and living in South Asia. In addition, the Expert became professionally involved with asylum seekers and refugees while working in UNHCR’s Kathmandu office during 2008-9. In recent years the Expert has served as a development, human rights, asylum, and political consultant and has written over 120 Expert Witness Reports.
